Peaches passed on this morning. Found her on the bottom of her cage this morning, with a little millet in her beak.
Buried her this afternoon, wrapped in cloth and white sage UPRIGHT because a bird laying down is just wrong.
You will be missed, see ya someday.

I will let Angie know, and I am so glad you posted about it. I know that the last few years of her life with us, while not bonded or hand-tame, she had the freedom to fly whenever she wanted to and she had fellowship with other birds and companionship with people. It makes me feel good knowing that we were able to give her something, some little taste of how a bird would choose to live with their flock even though it was a crazy flock. :) I think it's very thoughtful of you to have buried her upright.
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't answer the phone yesterday. We worked the Mayor's Day event at the Sommet Center (Predator's Stadium) and we got out late & saw a movie. We'll talk today.
Scotticus, you've got to make us one.
